My Evaluation - Preliminary Task!

Things I liked:

  1. I think the first and most obvious aspect of our film is the clock ticking sound which plays over throughout the piece. It adds to the effect we were trying to create of me as the student rushing to class.
  2. I also think our use of different shots was successful, especially considering this was our first attempt at filming as a group with no previous experience.
  3. Finally I think using the slow motion effect for the part where I fall through the door is really effective.

Things I disliked:

  1. The only element I dislike about our preliminary task was the fact there was a lot of shots on me running up the stairs. I think we could have achieved the desired effect without as much filming.

Things I would have done differently:

  1. when doing the tracking shots we tried several ways of following me with the camera. Initially we tried a trolley, I think it would have been helpful to have planned these specifically challenging shots beforehand to save time during the filming process.

Preliminary Task!

This is our initial introduction to the AS course; our final Preliminary task.
After class feedback we established the strengths and weaknesses of our initial preliminary task and re-edited to produce our final piece.

Pro's:

  • Included a range of camera angles
  • complicated filming by switching shots consistently
  • Good continuity
Con's:

  • Initially did not include the shot reverse shot
  • no specific dialogue
  • no clarity with props
